A couple of links
- A cinema with movies in English: Metropolis
- Ye Olde English Shoppe, magazines, foodstuff, books and video-rental also accessible in real life™ located behind the Mayersche Buchhandlung shop Schildergasse on the corner Antoniterstr and An Sankt Agatha
- however if all one needs is British teabags or Horlicks or Marmite one might as well go into one of the numerous "Afro Hair cosmetics" shops or many Asian foodshops where one can usually find PG-Tip™ and Marmite at better prices. And various "made in UK" curry mixes as well.
- Books
- At English Books and Tea they like books and will recommend.
Since books ordered cost the same anywhere and the owner is interested in English I suggest to do all ordering there. I certainly plan to.
Also he has a second-hand section. And the tea selection is nice.
- mainstram bookshops - incomplete list
The mainstream bookshops do English as 'also' offering ( right next to calendars, coffeetable books and selfimprovement ),they cater mainly for fast sell: mainstream and thrillers or for term books at the university
One might as well check out what the newsagent-bookshops at the main station offer - frankly if I have to order and already have to know what I want to read, I might as well do that online. The point of a 'brick and mortar' bookshop is seeing books one has never heard of before
while one browses - and in good shops recommendations by the shop people. In some places selling books is not yet the same as selling soap, socks or butter.( see above )
- Mayersche on Neumarkt
